Last week we had a Family Night at Victory Square! This was on opportunity to bring the family together and have some fall fun! 💙 #UMHS

Fall is upon us and how fun is it to look and touch the leaves that fall onto the ground with your child. This helps with the discovery of finding flat objects with different textures using crayons! 💙 #UMHS

Reading aloud to your baby is a wonderful shared activity you can continue for years to come. It is important for your baby's brain. Reading aloud teaches a baby about communication! This will also introduce concepts such as numbers, letters, colors and shapes in a fun way. During our home visits our Family Support Specialist share books with our families to keep and continue reading for years to come! 💙 #UMHS

We love partnering with families to provide meaningful Parent Nights that foster connection, build relationships and expand knowledge! Our parents are our biggest partners! 💙 #UMHS

Our mental health component is a dedicated team of professionals that work to identify and provide support to children, families, and staff. We acknowledge that every child has strengths and our team seeks to recognize and support each and every one while also working to further develop social-emotional skills and regulation of emotions that support classroom learning. 💙 #UMHS

Not sure what to do with leftover pumpkins? Utilize the insides to make a sensory bag for your child. This is a simple activity that can be created at home and can support children's sensory development! 💙 #UMHS

Our Family Support Specialists understand that children grow up fast. During our home visits we do activities that commemorate and celebrate that growth. Parent often will have keepsakes to remind them of those most important years of life. 💙 #UMHS

Please join us in welcoming our 2023-24 parent/guardian leaders! These Policy Council members represent each of our early childhood sites across our region of 8 counties! 💙
Head Start and Oregon Pre-Kindergarten programs believe parents should have a voice in the direction of our programs. They partner with us in decision-making, quality improvement, and lifting up the voices of those we serve.
Welcome Policy Council to our UMHS family! #yourvoicematters #hs-ehsparentleaders #UMHS

The Foster Care Advocate Night event was a smashing success! We had close to 50 people in attendance from around the region and there was some great discussion involving the issues of the Child Welfare and how one can get involved in supporting our foster youth. Also, a few community members inquired about becoming a CASA as well! A special thank you to the CASA volunteers that helped out last night! We hope to have another event soon!💙#UMHS

We will be at the Volunteer Fair in Hermiston today from 12pm-4pm! If you are interested in volunteering, this is a great opportunity to learn more. We hope to see you there! 💙 #UMHS

In addition to offering evidence based health screenings and OHP application assistance to children and families, our car seat program continues to make a positive impact in communities we serve. We were able to provide 30 car seats to eligible families since our car seat program launched this past May. We are excited to be able to continue our car seat program!💙 #UMHS #headstartawarnessmonth

We had an incredible time at the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) state conference called the Impact of ONE. There were close to 150 CASA volunteers, staff and other community members that attended the conference at the Confederated Tribes of Grand Rhonde. Many of us left the conference inspired, and energized and looking forward to future state CASA conferences! 💙 #UMHS

Family Services focuses on the family as a whole and works together with them to help enhance their child’s learning, develop and achieve family goals, and build partnerships. One way this is accomplished is by hosting Family Nights where children, families, and staff come together to learn and grow together. In September, Hermiston Child Development Center held their first Family Night of the school year where they welcomed families with open arms and completed an activity to help everyone get to know each other.
Attending Family Nights is an amazing way to learn with your child and create a sense of community at each site. #UMHS #HeadStartAwarnessMonth 💙

We will have Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) at the Foster Care Advocacy Night coming up on October 24th! Be sure to stop by and visit! 💙 #UMHS
